The special grooves in the friction material facilitate the escape of water and any other sediments (earth, sand, etc.); these slots on the shoe also allow for greater and rapid cooling of the friction material. Designed and patented in the 1980s, the FTR brake shoes were particularly aimed at off-road use, offering excellent performance especially in critical conditions.
