GORI 64.5 mm thermal group for INNOCENTI LAMBRETTA 125 150 in aluminum with 30mm manifold and with radial head 31032021 Bore: 64.5mm Stroke: 58/60mmPiston: diamond double ring Head: Radial with side spark plug Collector: Specific 30mm collector GORI, a historic brand in the creation of Lambretta tuning, presents the new 190/200cc cylinder kit for 125-150 narrow-case engines. The new and revolutionary thermal unit has been made of aluminium alloy with NiCaSil galvanic coating, it features a new type of radial head with flow guide which, thanks to its shape, guides the air flow towards the slots in the head cooling hood, significantly increasing the cooling of the thermal unit even in the most demanding applications. The double-ring piston guarantees excellent compression in the combustion chamber and excellent depression in the intake phase. With the innovative gasket system contained in the package, the 190/200cc Gori thermal group can be mounted independently both in 58mm stroke (190cc) and in 60mm stroke (200cc). Available in 2 versions, with 30mm cast manifold perfectly connected to the cylinder intake, without manifold for those who wish to mount it with the original manifolds. The 6-hole exhaust allows the assembly of all the mufflers currently available on the market, although Gori always recommends the use of its sports exhausts. The new Gori 190/200cc thermal group is the result of years of development and road testing to obtain a specific thermal group for fast tourism with a pinch of extra sportiness in the delivery that can satisfy even the most demanding palates. The Story GORI, a sports preparation workshop for Lambrettas, was born in Florence at the end of the 50s from the innate passion for engines of Giancarlo Gori and his father Vasco who participated in regularity races for scooters (Giancarlo, since he was a child, enjoyed assembling and tuning up micro-engines for 2-stroke model boats, but he was not yet old enough to open a business). The origins date back to the now distant 1958 when the shutter of the small workshop on Lungarno Cellini 49 in Florence was raised for the first time, initially only for motorcycle and scooter repairs, later for sports preparations, especially for Lambretta models. After various experiments on mopeds of all kinds and the first "modifications" on Itom 50, Giancarlo concentrated on the development and marketing of Lambretta models, he began to practice preparing the TV 175 1st series family model, and then continued on the Li 2nd series, TV 175 2nd series and Li 3rd series models. In the "Officina del Gori", which in the meantime had become an official Lambretta dealer, the Li 3° series 125 models were developed to deliver them new, turnkey, already with the cylinder kit brought to 175 or 200cc. modified exhaust with expansion type cone, larger Dell'Orto SS 27 - 30 carburetors and other mechanical parts that were recovered from the scrapping of old Guzzi, Gilera, Benelli, Sertum and English motorcycles from the 40s and 50s. There was immediately great interest in the Lambrettas prepared by GORI and the growing success created a group of loyal customers, who, on Giancarlo's idea, founded a team, the "Scuderia Gori" with an official logo and a lightning bolt drawn on the hoods."Scuderia Gori" was born to take part in competitions, there were many regularity races and rallies in which it took part, with good placings and victories but as was the custom of the time, it also competed in challenges between friends or against other mopeds, scooters, prepared by "competing" workshops or even against large-displacement motorcycles and cars. The Lambrettas challenged each other on roads with little traffic and straight roads, one of the usual places was the Firenze Mare state road, with little traffic in those years where these Sunday challenges reached such a high point of notoriety that they were followed by the public and attracted the interest of the ice cream, sandwich and soft drink vendor! The riders challenged each other over 400 meters with a standing start and among the many challenges we remember the one that saw the Lambretta GORI driven by Roberto Capolino beat a Triumph Boneville 650 or the one in which Stefano Benelli challenged a Ferrari in acceleration, in Forte dei Marmi. A bet for each challenge and a pizza in company for each victory with the whole group of "GORIzzati" friends; the tastiest pizza, obviously, was the one eaten after beating the Ferrari. The echoes of these challenges and the victories in the regularity races of the Scuderia Gori brought much fame to the "Officina del Gori", Giancarlo was the first to experiment with double cylinder intake in 1964 on a scooter (Lambretta TV175 3rd series) and in the following year, 1965, always on the same Lambretta they developed the engine for the "Monza Record", inventing a "bell" fairing that wrapped the Lambretta from the mudguard to the shield, but with a completely original bodywork and frame. The Record was made official by the CONI timekeepers who recorded the incredible speed of 162.83 km/h, but in the same year the relationship with Innocenti deteriorated due to the lack of official support for the Record organized in Monza, promised by the company. At the end of the 1960s, Officina Gori's interest shifted for a short period to the world of Vespa, being the first to create conversion kits for Vespa 50-90 and 125 small frames.Scuderia Gori participated in 2 editions of the GIRO d'ITALIA, 1966 and 1967, with 3 Vespa 90ss developed by Gori, conquering the category victory and good placings in the general classification; the team was captained by Vasco Gori, a real ace with that little Vespa. Giancarlo could not help but attempt another Record, this time with the Vespa he reached the remarkable speed of 145.8 km/h.The frame used was that of the modified Vespa 90, cut to lower the center of gravity, the engine used mounted a 100cc Saetta kart cylinder, adapted, with a bell-shaped fairing similar to that of the Lambretta. The Record was not officially registered, primarily due to the lack of interest of the sponsors and Piaggio, but also due to the sudden change of direction of the Officina Gori who dived into the world of motorcycles, creating what were among the most beautiful and successful Italian Cross and Regularity bikes, but that's another story... motogori.com .
